my_ip_location.php as XML?

Postby Stefan » Sat May 01, 2010 7:54 am

Hi,

I'm interested in the output of the

my_ip_location.php

as XML. Since this could be usefull to any kind of software
that provides the respective user its current location. eg. a weather forecast.

Brgds,
Stefan

Hi, you can use ip_query.php

You can find more information about the API on this page : http://ipinfodb.com/ip_location_api.php

THanks

I think I have a similar problem as Stefan does. The problem with ip_query.php (and friends) is that I want to look up the user's country from running JavaScript code but I do not know the user's IP address so I do not know what to pass your script to get the proper response.

Could you make it so that the APIs have an option to use or default to the requester's IP instead of having to specify one?

Like I said, use ip_query.php without any ip parameters (try it...)

You can find JS/jQuery code on this page : http://ipinfodb.com/ip_location_api_json.php
